| Abstract: | The purpose of this research is to compare the Public Relations Departments of Dusit Hotel Nikko and Manila Galleria Suites. The points of comparison, which the researcher employed, are the hotel’s facilities, the PR department’s objectives, organizational set-up, functions, and a common and recent PR event. The study revealed that although the two hotels had different organizational structures, they had similar objectives in promoting the hotel as the businessman’s premiere hotel. This resulted in similar PR events such as festivals, seasonal events, bridal fair, and food shows. The study also identified the different strategies used by the respective hotels to achieve its image. These methods include mass media and press relations, advertising, guest relations, print and production. The study proved that Public Relations is crucial for the corporate image of the hotel. Image is what the hotel industry is all about and PR department helps to maintain the reputation and prominence of the hotel. |
