dc.description.abstract The Business Process Outsourcing industry is one of the booming and most progressive industries in the Philippines. The nature of the Philippines as an English-speaking nation proves to be the countries competitive edge prompting multi-national companies to migrate some of their business processes in the country. By making English proficiency and regular exposure and ability to adapt to foreign culture as primary requirements and expectations within the industry, a concern emerges questioning its effects in the sense of patriotism and nationalism of the Filipino employees opting for jobs offered by the industry. This thesis sought to find the connection between these requirements and the Filipino employees' patriotic and nationalistic convictions. By looking into the historical context of the emergence of the industry as affected by globalization and the development of Filipino patriotism as well, there is a better understanding of the perceptions and preferences found common among the Filipino employees of this industry. Moreover, these perceptions and preferences are descriptive of the level of pride that they have for their country. en_US
